Lynn County's second newspaper, the O'Donnell Index, was established by P.A. Womble from Knox City on Sept. 14, 1923, but in November he leased the paper to Tom J. Kellis, who later bought it. Kellis sold to J.W. Roberts and then Pauline Campbell published the Index. Mrs. Ferrell Farrington owned it in 1928 when W.G. Forgy established the O'Donnell Press. During November 1941 Forgy bought the Index and combined the two under the banner O'Donnell Index Press. Around 1944 O.G. and Ellie Smith bought the Index-Press from Mr. and Mrs. August Hunter. In 1985 Ellie Smith sold to Linda White Rodgers who sold in 1991 to Regina Barnes Crutcher who again sold to Stephanie Stephens in August 1994. In April 2007 she sold to Sharon Anne Schooler Wells. Bill Schooler- co-owner. Who now runs the O'Donnell Index Press , The entrance is located in the back of the school administration building 6th street . The paper was Founded: 1923
